Now, the developer has set its sights on the world of Gielinor as well as RuneScape and plans to launch both a board game and an RPG book for tabletop gaming in the coming year OSRS Gold. The two RPG versions will include many of the most well-known characters from RuneScape and places, allowing groups of up to five players to compete against classic quests found in RuneScape and bring the adventure in the world of Gielinor to the home of Gielinor.
Players will be able craft and upgrade equipment, communicate with NPCs as well as take on several side quests that are inspired by an old-fashioned MMORPG. The board game will be launched with an Kickstarter campaign later this year. Meanwhile, the main tabletop RPG book is set to launch directly in stores.
The essential book for tabletop RPGs is expected to be compatible with the huge tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons five edition core books, allowing dungeon kings to seamlessly incorporate elements from RuneScape into their campaigns.
Jagex Chief Executive Officer Phil Mansell was optimistic about the project expressing his enthusiasm regarding the Kickstarter project "involving all the RuneScape players," in addition, Steamforged CCO Mat Hart believed the "rich RuneScape universe is going to translate beautifully" into a tabletop setting.
RuneScape has been expanding significantly since its initial browser-based launch over the last few years, with Steamforged's board games being the latest offering from Jagex. In an interview, multiple Jagex employees discussed the process of transforming the mobile version of RuneScape into a cross-platform release and, in September of last year, a cross-platform release.
Jagex partnered with the creator of popular Old School RuneScape mod RuneLite HD to bring the HD version accessible to all players Cheap RS Gold. Steamforged's upcoming board game will offer the fans of RuneScape a second way to experience the world of Gielinor and create their own adventure.
