Along with the 8-mile Ride, the 3-mile Family Ride, and virtual option, the Virginia Credit Union Moonlight Ride has something for everyone! Upon finishing your ride back at Sports Backers Stadium, celebrate at the Post-Ride Party with music, refreshments, and a soft drink or beer. Whether you join us for the in-person festivities or choose to ride your own route, all participants will receive a commemorative event shirt, bike lights, goodie bag, and more!
5 : Moonlight Festivities
Onam is a major annual event for Malayali people in and outside Kerala.[58][59][60] It is a harvest festival, one of three major annual Hindu celebrations along with Vishu and Thiruvathira, and it is observed with numerous festivities. Onam celebrations include Vallam Kali (boat races), Pulikali (tiger dances), Pookkalam (flower Rangoli), Onathappan (worship), Onam Kali, Tug of War, Thumbi Thullal (women's dance), Kummattikali (mask dance), Onathallu (martial arts), Onavillu (music), Kazhchakkula (plantain offerings), Onapottan (costumes), Atthachamayam (folk songs and dance), and other celebrations.
Onam is the official state festival of Kerala[53][61] with public holidays that start four days from Uthradom (Onam eve). Major festivities take place across 30 venues in Thiruvananthapuram, capital of Kerala. It is also celebrated by Malayali diaspora around the world. Though a Hindu festival, non-Hindu communities of Kerala participate in Onam celebrations considering it as a cultural festival.

There will also be a number of artists on hand creating art live on site and crafters and other general vendors with goods available. An area for kids including a bounce house and tables for eating food will also be part of the festivities.
The holidays will be in full swing during Christkindl at Moonlight Markt in downtown Shawnee on Thursday, November 17. The festivities get started at 4 p.m. at City Hall at 11110 Johnson Drive with local vendors, REINDEER, live entertainment, face painters, food trucks, beer garden, kids' crafts and games. Santa will be here to hear your child's holiday wishes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.! At 5:30 p.m. Santa will join Mayor Michelle Distler to talk about the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund that will benefit both Shawnee Community Services and Mercy and Truth Medical Missions.
